The GV90 is Genesis swinging for the fences. Previewed by the Neolun concept and revealed in production form in 2026, it is the brand's largest and most expensive vehicle, a full-size electric SUV built to sit above the GV80 and to challenge the BMW iX, Mercedes EQS SUV and Cadillac Escalade IQ. Early reports describe it as keeping much of the concept's smooth, monolithic styling, which is rare for a showroom car and a sign of how seriously Genesis is taking the flagship role.
The headline feature is the coach doors: rear-hinged back doors that open opposite the front ones, with no central pillar, a trick more associated with Rolls-Royce than with any Korean car. Inside, coverage points to swiveling seats, lounge-style rear comfort and a long list of luxury features, with Genesis leaning on suppliers such as LG for its cabin systems. It sits on a new electric platform from Hyundai Motor Group designed for bigger vehicles.
The open questions are the usual ones for a halo car: price, range, real-world charging, and whether buyers in the six-figure class will embrace a Genesis badge. Reviewers have called it both audacious and a little bewildering, which is probably the intent. It also arrives as electric SUV demand cools in some markets, so its sales will be read as a verdict on the whole luxury EV bet. This page follows the GV90 from launch through first drives, pricing announcements, market rollouts and the inevitable comparisons with the established luxury giants it hopes to embarrass.
Genesis's electric flagship SUV, a rolling lounge with rear-hinged coach doors, swiveling seats and ambitions aimed at Rolls-Royce-level theater.
