The Polestar 2 is the car that turned Polestar from a concept into a company. Arriving in 2020, it was a sharp-edged fastback that sat a little higher than a sedan, wore Volvo-derived bones under minimalist Swedish design, and became one of the first cars on sale with Google's Android Automotive system built in. Google Maps, voice control and app updates came without a phone plugged in, which felt novel then and set a template many rivals have since copied.
Early cars were dual-motor and all-wheel drive, with an optional Performance Pack that brought gold-painted Ohlins dampers and Brembo brakes, a nod to the brand's racing roots.
