About Elevate

The Honda Elevate is Honda's attempt to win back ground in India, one of the world's fastest-growing car markets and one where midsize SUVs rule. Launched in 2023, it is built in Rajasthan and slots into the hotly contested segment dominated by the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It was designed with Indian roads and buyers in mind, offering generous ground clearance, a spacious cabin and a large boot, and it arrived as Honda's answer to years of shrinking market share in India.

The Elevate uses a refined 1.5-liter petrol engine with a manual or CVT and has no diesel or hybrid option, which some rivals offer. Critics have praised its comfortable ride, roomy rear seat and Honda's reputation for reliability, while noting that its feature list initially lagged competitors that offered panoramic sunroofs and more advanced technology. The Elevate is also exported to Japan, where it is sold as the WR-V, an interesting twist for an India-built Honda. A recent facelift refreshed the styling and features.

The Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Tata Curvv. Honda's sales in India depend heavily on it alongside the City and Amaze. Follow the facelift launch, prices and variant news, discounts, sales numbers, recalls and reviews, plus any news on electrified versions for the Indian market, where an electric SUV related to the Elevate has long been expected.
