About ADX

The ADX is Acura's newest front door, a subcompact crossover that went on sale for the 2025 model year to catch buyers who might otherwise walk out of a showroom with a Honda HR-V or a Mazda CX-30. It shares its bones with the HR-V but swaps in the turbocharged 1.5-liter four from the Civic Si and Integra, with available all-wheel drive, a sportier suspension and a more upscale cabin with the brand's latest screens.

The pitch is simple: an Acura for people who are not yet MDX people. It is the brand's entry ticket, built in Mexico and priced to land under most premium rivals, and it arrived as Acura tried to win back younger buyers who had drifted to Mazda, Subaru and Hyundai. Reviewers have praised its peppy engine and grown-up ride while pointing out that the family resemblance to the HR-V is hard to miss, and that a continuously variable transmission is not every enthusiast's idea of luxury.

Small premium crossovers are a crowded field, and the ADX is cross-shopped against the Lexus UX, BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Buick Envista and Encore GX, and loaded versions of the Subaru Crosstrek and Mazda CX-30. Within Acura it sits beneath the RDX and alongside the Integra, the two affordable ways into the brand, and the two cars share more than a little under the skin, right down to the turbocharged engine that powers them both.

Acura has leaned into the ADX's youthful image, building a BMX-inspired custom concept with rider Coco Zurita. This page gathers stunts like that along with head-to-head comparisons, trim-level reviews, recalls and the sales numbers that will show whether the bet on younger buyers is paying off. With hybrids spreading quickly through the segment and rivals adding plug-in versions, any word of an electrified ADX will be worth watching closely, as will its sales against the cheaper Honda it is built from.

ADX

Acura's smallest SUV, a turbocharged, HR-V-based runabout with Civic Si muscle, aimed at young buyers who want a luxury badge on a budget.
