About Revuelto

The Revuelto, revealed in 2023, had to replace one of the most theatrical cars of the century, the Aventador, and to carry Lamborghini's V12 tradition into the hybrid age. It does so with a new naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 mounted behind the cabin, three electric motors, two of them driving the front wheels, and a combined output of just over 1,000 metric horsepower. It was Lamborghini's first plug-in hybrid series car and the opening act of its electrification plan.

The lineage stretches back through the Aventador, Murcielago, Diablo and Countach to the Miura, every one a mid-engined V12 flagship with an outrageous shape. The Revuelto keeps the scissor doors and the drama but adds a new carbon-fiber monocoque, an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox in place of the Aventador's jerky single-clutch unit and the ability to drive short distances on electricity. Reviewers have praised its engine, its pace and its surprising usability, while noting the considerable weight the hybrid system adds.

It competes with Ferrari's 849 Testarossa and 12Cilindri and, at the extreme end, with hybrid hypercars such as the Aston Martin Valhalla. Demand was strong from the start, with order books filled long in advance. Like Lamborghini's V12 flagships before it, the Revuelto is expected to spawn hotter, lighter and more limited versions, and prototypes believed to preview them have been spotted testing with revised aerodynamics, stirring speculation about the return of the SV and SVJ names.

Coverage here follows those spy shots and reveals, along with reviews, special editions, recalls, auction results and the steady output of one-off commissions. It also tracks the broader fate of the V12 at Sant'Agata, where the Revuelto has shown that twelve cylinders can survive tightening emissions rules with help from a battery, and where its successors will reveal how long that compromise can last. For collectors, the limited versions to come are likely to be the most sought-after bulls of the decade.
