About Gemera
Only Koenigsegg would answer the question nobody asked: what if a hypercar had four proper seats? The Gemera, first revealed in 2020, is a Mega-GT designed to carry four adults and their luggage in comfort while outrunning almost anything on the road. Its huge doors swing outward and upward to reveal a cabin with rear seats that genuinely work for grown-ups, plus a famously generous supply of cupholders, a cheeky nod to everyone who said a hypercar could never be practical.
The Gemera was originally shown with a tiny but ferociously powerful twin-turbocharged three-cylinder engine, nicknamed the Tiny Friendly Giant, working with electric motors. As development continued, Koenigsegg added a far more potent option built around a twin-turbo V8 and its own compact Dark Matter electric motor, pushing combined output to roughly 2,300 horsepower and turning the family car into one of the most powerful road vehicles ever built. The V8 version became the focus of production.
Customer deliveries began after a long development, and the first finished Gemeras have started appearing at concours events and in the hands of owners. The car occupies a niche of its own. Rolls-Royce and Bentley offer four-seat luxury, and Ferrari's Purosangue offers four-seat speed, but nothing else combines hypercar performance, a carbon-fiber body and adult-sized rear seats in quite this way. It is very much a car for the collector who has everything and a family to bring along.
This page covers deliveries, customer specifications, technical deep dives, performance testing and the occasional appearance of a Gemera at a car show or auction. Because production is tiny, stories are infrequent but often revealing, offering glimpses inside Koenigsegg's engineering and its customers' tastes. Watch for independent driving impressions and any record attempts, since Koenigsegg rarely builds a car without eventually testing exactly how fast it can go, and a four-seat record holder would suit the company's sense of humor perfectly.
